The Designer
Hiba Husayni is a talented Syrian-American jewelry designer based in New York City. Her fascination with jewelry began at the age of 13 when she would sneak into her mother’s jewelry box to admire each piece. She was particularly captivated by the intricate bracelet designs that secured diamonds perfectly while allowing for smooth movement on the wrist. This early admiration sparked her desire to learn the art of creating timeless jewelry.
In 2011, amidst the ongoing conflict in Syria, Hiba graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. During these challenging times, her jewelry sketchbook became a source of solace and creativity. In 2012, she made the pivotal decision to leave Syria to fully pursue her passion for jewelry design.
The following year, Hiba enrolled in The Design Studio by Azza Fahmy, a renowned Egyptian jewelry designer and a pioneer among Arab female jewelers, in partnership with the Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence, Italy.
In 2014, Hiba moved to the United States, making New York City her new home. She continued her education at the New York Jewelry Design Institute (NYJDI) and became a certified CAD designer. Since then, she has worked as a Creative CAD Designer for a luxury high-end jewelry company, creating bespoke pieces for various well-known jewelry houses.
In 2023, Hiba achieved the status of Certified GIA Diamond Grader. That same year, she was selected for the DAC Mentorship Program by the Couture Show, where she debuted her first two high-end collections, ZAHA and Sadaf, at Couture 2023 in Las Vegas. Currently, she manages the CAD department at a prominent jewelry firm while also running her own brand, ZAHN-Z. Hiba aspires for ZAHN-Z to make a significant impact in the jewelry industry through innovative design.
