The Designer

Hiba Husayni is a Syrian-American jewelry designer based in New York City. At the age of 13, Hiba developed an interest in jewelry. She used to sneak into her mother’s jewelry box and admire each and every piece. She was mesmerized by the meticulous bracelet designs that could hold a diamond so perfectly in place and yet still manage to move smoothly on the wrist. Soon after, she knew that she wanted to learn what goes on behind the scenes of producing a timeless piece of jewelry.

In 2011, during the ongoing conflict in Syria, Hiba graduated with a Bachelor’s in Architecture. During the toughest of times, her jewelry sketchbook was her remedy. In 2012, she took a decision to leave Syria in order to pursue her life’s passion in jewelry design.

In 2013, Hiba enrolled in The Design Studio by Azza Fahmy – the famed Egyptian jewelry designer and a pioneer of Arab woman jewelers – in collaboration with the Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence-Italy.

In 2014, Hiba moved to the United States and made NYC her home. She then continued her studies at the New York Jewelry Design Institute (“NYJDI”) and became a certified CAD designer. Since 2014 and while serving as a Creative CAD Designer at a Luxurious High End Jewelry Company Hiba has designed for various top and well-known jewelry houses and has specialized in customized pieces.

In 2023 Hiba became a Certified GIA Diamond Grader, in the same year Hiba was selected to join the DAC Mentorship Program by the Couture Show and deputed her first two high end collections (ZAHA & Sadaf) at Couture 2023 in Vegas. Hiba is currently managing the CAD department at a well-known high end jewelry company while running ZAHN-Z.
Hiba wishes for ZAHN-Z to have a great design input in the jewelry industry.
